Thanks for taking a peek into my world. My favorite spot is my studio—filled with colorful characters who are always dreaming and scheming. One day, a brave dog is venturing to the moon. The next, a little boy is spreading joy around town after catching a serious case of the sillies. One thing is for sure—there's never a dull moment!
I love storytelling and making art because it connects me to wonderment, joy, and to kids and their parents. Being a kid can be a blast. Being a kid can be tough. Sharing a story that tickles our funny bones or touches our heart reminds us that we're all in this together.
An active SCBWI member, I’m so happy to be part of the vibrant kidlit community. My time as an intellectual property attorney immersed me in the worlds of writers, artists, and inventors—a daily dose of creativity that now fuels my own storytelling.
When I’m not in my studio, I draw inspiration from time outside hiking in the nearby Cascades and skate skiing when the snow flies. I also relish a cozy day at home, soup simmering on the stove, while I snuggle up on the couch with a good book (of course!) and my favorite dog in the world.
I live in suburban Seattle where I’m cultivating my garden of stories. Erika Quist is a pen name. Some of you may know me as Kirstin Erika Larson. Either way, I'm so glad you stopped by.

Dear Friend –
Kirstoons is my Etsy store where I sell greeting cards I design. When I was a kid, I loved writing letters and finding mail in the mailbox with my name on it. Back then, we didn’t even call it "snail mail" because email didn’t exist yet. Sending a card was the best way to connect with faraway friends and family.
All these years later, I still think that taking the time to put pen to paper is something special. In our busy world, it gives us a chance to pause and think about what our friends mean to us. With a card we can send a little love along with a laugh, or a smile, or a snail mail bear hug.
My Kirstoons cards have connected me to strangers all over the United States and across the Atlantic. I hope they bring a little joy to your day and help you spread that happiness to others.
Warmest wishes,
Kirstoons
